Narooma Oyster Festival will be held on the 3rd & 4th May 2024

Join growers, chefs and shuckers to celebrate the marvellous rock oyster on the shores of Wagonga Inlet on Yuin Country – land of clear, blue water.

A favourite on the New South Wales food and beverage calendar, around 70,000 rock oysters are shucked and quaffed here on the first weekend in May each year.

Now in its 17th year, the festival blends cosmopolitan food and cultural experiences with immersive entertainment and music across two stages. Headliners this year include groove merchants Benji and the Saltwater Sound System and blues great Owen Campbell.

Friday evening is a twilight affair that ends with fireworks over the water. This year sees another fantastic range of food offerings with food vendors around the general foreshore. A gate ticket will deliver you to multiple oyster bars, liquor bars, food trucks, live music and projected animations.

Saturday is a huge day of tastings, exploring the foreshore markets, music across two stages and fierce but friendly competition among the farmers. Discover the merrior of NSW estuaries in Oyster Farmers Alley where farmers gather from South Coast estuaries with a variety of natural and topped oysters. Cheer on the fastest shuckers in Australia’s Oyster Shucking Championships and you won’t believe how big an oyster can grow until you see Australia’s Biggest Oyster, supported by Australia’s Oyster Coast. Will we see a three kilogram champion this year?

Chefs have flocked to the festival for the cooking program, including Corey Costello (Rockpool Bar and Grill), Hao Chen (Raku Dining) and Serif Kaya (Ottoman).

It’s Australia’s premier oyster festival!
