Narooma Boats Afloat Festival.

October 2021 The Narooma Traditional ‘Boats Afloat’ Festival is all about enjoying hand built or restored boats and sharing experiences with boating enthusiasts from all over the place. The festival features a Parade of Boats along the boardwalk on Sunday.  More information at www.naroomaboatsafloat.com

The award-winning Narooma Oyster Festival is a mouth-watering celebration of South Coast flavours held on the foreshore at Forster’s Bay, Narooma – one of the most beautiful locations on the NSW South Coast.

The 2021 Covid-safe program celebrates South Coast produce – think abalone, sea urchins and, of course, oysters! A highlight this year is the revamped cooking program that matches visiting chefs to local producers with a focus on South Coast produce that usually gets exported. It’s a rare opportunity to taste high-end South Coast seafood previously destined for the tables of top restaurants around the world.

Fun for families and foodies alike, the festival delivers great food experiences with oyster tastings, oyster masterclasses, cooking demonstrations, food and wine market stalls and the popular bush tucker cook-up. The 2021 program includes local art and culture with the addition of the River of Art Arts Alley, live music, family entertainment and the popular oyster shucking competition – a coveted title amongst South Coast oyster farmers.

Paul West (chef, author, TV presenter and oyster farmer) joins the team to infuse his River Cottage Australia charm as the 2021 Narooma Oyster Festival ambassador and Kelly Eastwood (Eastwoods Deli and Cooing School) returns to host the cooking program. You can also expect to see Australian seafood legend John Susman judging the shucking competition and hosting the Ultimate Oyster Experience. A full list of visiting chefs and local producers will be announced early March. More information can be found at NaroomaOysterFestival.com
