On Sunday 5 December experience the exhilaration of the 100-mile Narooma-based mountain bike adventure Escape from Cobra Mountain.
Offering 3 different courses of 60km, 120km & 100 miles, Escape from Cobra Mountain discovers all-new mountain bike terrain, taking competitors into rainforest gullies and over old logging trails where bullocks once transported mine supplies between Wagonga Inlet and the Tuross River, all in the shadows of Gulaga Mountain.
As much about the journey as about the race, Escape from Cobra Mountain is exhilarating yet gruelling, tranquil yet breathtaking - with amazingly grand yet undiscovered riding trails.
The event runs from Pub Hill Farm in Narooma with categories ranging from junior to veteran over the three distances.
Entries Close on 22 November or when sold-out - but places are selling fast. Entry cost are $160, $130 and $95 depending on the course. For more details see • www.blackheartevents.com.au

5th Narooma BoatsAfloat
Celebrating Traditional Boats

Narooma's Traditional "BoatsAfloat" will celebrate 5 successful years in 2010!
For those with a passion for handbuilt or restored boats it's all about sharing the experience with like-minded enthusiasts from all over. 2009 had over 40 entries including boats from Melbourne to the Hunter Valley, and even a contingent from Canberra!
Fun, friendship and serious nautical discussion are interspersed with cruising around the pristine waters, social gatherings, bbqs, and a presentation dinner. For the general public it's a chance to see a bit of living maritime history - listening to the putt-putts, watching the sailboats and admiring the woodwork.
A feature for everyone is the Grand Parade of Boats down the inlet to the Boardwalk. There are plenty of vantage points around Narooma's Wagonga Inlet, with the bridge or the Boardwalk itself being the focal point for the "Grand Parade of Boats" on the Sunday morning.
For the boaties at the end of the day's activities, over a presentation dinner and a few drinks, tall stories are shared and secrets revealed as to why some boats don't leak and the engine actually starts first time, every time.
After the festival, visitors are invited to stay in Eurobodalla for few days to cruise the Eurobodalla - "land of many waters".
